Living in Sedona

Sedona real estate is no doubt in high demand as Sedona is one of the most desireable places to live. Located about 30 miles or 45 minutes south of Flagstaff and about two hours north or 116 miles of sunny Phoenix. It’s located in the Verde Valley surrounded by the rugged red rocks of Sedona and the Village of Oak Creek.

Sedona is home to about 10,000 residents and its main attraction is our stunning red rock formations. They seem to glow in the rising or setting sunlight and there are popular backdrop for many of our local touristy activities such as mountain biking and hiking. Sedona was named after Sedona Arabella Miller Schnebly, the wife of the first postmaster who was celebrated for her hospitality from 1977 to 1950.

Sedona is home to several festivals and activities year-round such as the Bluegrass Festival, the International Film Festival which is made headlines all over the world, the Jazz on the Rocks Festival, the Sedona Marathon, and numerous art centers, fundraisers, and musical celebrations. Locals and regional people come from all around to celebrate these phenomenal and world-class festivals. Speaking of well-known, the movie titled 'Sedona' was released in 2012 in which every shot was entirely filmed the Sedona area.

The average home price in Sedona tends to run around $350,000 but there are several higher than that and far below starting at just $100,000 for some short sales or foreclosures. Sedona also has numerous luxury estates running over $1 million with stunning 3 to 6 bedrooms and over 4500 ft.² of living space. Many of these also sit on several acres.

Downtown Sedona split up into several areas; the main Sedona town along Highway 89A, and the residential communities more to the West of downtown and North of the airport. These homes range from about $170,000 to about $400,000 with the average price somewhere around 325,000.
